Hi, everyone! It's been a busy couple of weeks for us. In the span of just a few days, our demo was playtested at two very different events: one of the biggest gaming shows on the planet, and one much closer to home. We wanted to share how it went, and say thank you to everyone who sat down and gave our demo a try.
The big stage: Gamescom
Gamescom needs no special introduction. Hundreds of thousands of visitors, and more games than any one person could ever play during the 3 days of the event. Bringing our demo there as a small indie team for the first time ever was really exciting! We had a small corner in the Games Croatia section, together with other amazing Croatian games. We were not there physically but we got a live feed of photos and videos from our friends, showing how many people stopped and played the demo. The reactions that were reported back to us were really positive, and we want to say thank you if you were in Köln and gave our demo a try!Dark Queen of Samobor at Gamescom

Home turf: Kulen Dayz
A little while later, our demo hit another convention, this time for something much closer to our hearts. Kulen Dayz is a much smaller event in our hometown of Osijek, Croatia. There, our demo was tried by local devs, people who've watched this project grow from a rough prototype into what it is today, and folks who were discovering it for the very first time. Our Art Director Mato was there representing,

What's next
Two different crowds, but the feedback pretty much lined up. Getting hands-on reactions from two different audiences, one international, one local, was really valuable. It's one thing to build in a bubble but it's much more useful to watch real players discover your game for the first time, twice, in the space of a few weeks. We're taking everything we heard and folding it straight into development. If you played the demo at either event, thank you. Every reaction and every piece of feedback helps us make Dark Queen of Samobor better.
And if you haven't tried it yet, the demo is live on our Steam page, so go ahead and spin it up and let us know what you think!
Until next time,
